In 1886, William Grant set out with his seven sons and two daughters to fulfill his lifelong dream. Together they set out to build a distillery, and after a year of work, William named it Glenfiddich, meaning ‘deer valley’ in Gaelic. Glenfiddich is one of the few remaining family-owned single malt whiskeys and a brand that continues its founder William's innovative spirit from generation to generation, and is currently the most awarded single malt Scotch whiskey in the world.
